Alexa Internet, Inc. is a California-based subsidiary company of Amazon.com that is best known for operating a website that provides information on web traffic to other websites.

Alexa ranks your site according to how many people visit your site with a strong emphasis on those who have their Alexa Tool Bar installed. The problem that lies with this method alone is that the people who do not have the toolbar that visit your site may not be counted.

So the first and foremost thing to do is to Place an Alexa.com widget/plugin or chart on your website. By doing this, it logs your visitors even if they don’t have a toolbar.

The next thing to do is to install the Alexa toolbar on your own computer and kindly ask your readers to do the same.

Now all you have to do now, is to write quality content so you can get a decent search engine positioning and page views that you need.

Although these will not make your web site an overnight success, using them over a long period of time will improve your web site's ranking in no time.

Yes, www.bankaholic.com just sold for $15 million. And just for the record this blog is run only by Johns Wu him self, and for that amount of money the new owner even let johns stay blogging on there.

Darren had noted that bankholic ranked very well a lot of banking terms, and it can send targeted traffic which will easily convert to a sales on affiliate product.

If this price is true it’s a fairly decent sale for Mr Wu (understatement of the year) - the blog has an Alexa ranking of 42,168 and averages less than 20 comments per post. The blog does seem to rank very well for a lot of bank terms and I’m sure drives targeted traffic and would convert well with affiliate products - but this is still a fairly inspiring sale!

Over the past few days, Google has updated their Toolbar Page Ranking. I was noticing that a lot of sites gone up and some got hammered on this newest update.

Entrecard is often at the top of every new bloggers list of things to try. The service is both criticized and praised by the blogosphere. Once you run Entrecard, you will have a good feel of what sort of traffic the widget can bring.

I agree that Entrecard has done quite a lot for the blogosphere, especially for new blogs like me. Blogs with less than 10 visitors per day are now having over a hundred visitors. That’s great!! But what happens when the widget is taken off?

The amount of traffic your site will receive will ultimately go down. Entrecarders will no longer see your card within their EC inbox. They will also not have the benefit of receiving a credit when visiting your site. This is because they believe members are visiting their website and not bothering to read any posts or leave comment and visiting only to drop. The spirit of blogging is rapidly diminishing. Most Bloggers in Entrecard only care about dropping and gaining credits for advertisement.
